[April 18.3 MAY 1:

SECTION 1.

Question asked in the House of Commons, April 18, 1912.

Sir George Toulmin,-To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is

prepared to lay papers in regard to the recent Opium Conference at The Hague.

Answer by Mr. Acland (for Sir Edward Grey).

The report of the British delegates at the recent Opium Conference at The Hague has only just been received, and has still to be considered by the various departments concerned. The printed volumes containing the proceedings of the conference and the documents laid before it were only received from the Netherlands Government yesterday. It is therefore impossible as yet to decide what papers, if any, can properly be laid before Parliament.
